MELC is based in the state of Manipur in India and has Missionary Fields in Manipur, Tripura, and Varanasi. Initially, it was established as the Jou Christian Association (JCA) on February 20, 1954, with a few believers at Daijang Village, Churachandpur District, Manipur State, India.
